Message from the
Founder
Dear language enthusiasts,
I welcome you to our site. Let me tell you a little bit about myself and why I started easilyurdu.com.
I am a native Urdu speaker. As a child I mostly spoke Urdu at home and in school, so it came naturally to me, and I never realized that learning it can be difficult.
I first realized that learning Urdu language can be a struggle was when I tried to teach it to my own children. As I was living abroad - outside my home country - and my children were going to a multicultural school, where English was the de facto medium of communication, I struggled to make my children proficient in Urdu. Even after buying countless Urdu children's books, showing them Urdu cartoons, and taking out the time to teach my children from school textbooks I bought on trips to my home country, they still didn't develop proficiency in Urdu on par with their proficiency in English.
Later, I started exploring teaching and tutoring as a career. I took several courses on language teaching - among them were certificate course on teaching of Urdu and TESOL certificate (Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages Certificate). As I studied these courses related to teaching of these two languages, I could clearly see the stark difference in the resources and educational materials available for them. Not only there was scarcity of educational materials for Urdu, the quality of available materials was also lacking.
Although there are some high-quality resources available for learning Urdu, I feel that there is a need to develop more products and more diverse products. To this end I decided to create the Easily Urdu brand. It is my humble attempt to make my contribution towards making Urdu easy to learn for everyone.
